Important documents when buying a vehicle
What documentation should I take with to the dealership when I want to buy a vehicle?
Fully employed private individuals:
- Your valid and original drivers licence
- Your original ID
- Proof of your residential address, i.e. water and electricity bill not older than 3 months
- Your banking details
- Proof of income, i.e. latest payslips and/or bank statements from your bank and stamped by the bank (3 months)
Companies:
- CK Documents/CM29
- Valid and original certified copies of member/director(s) ID’s
- 4 months original bank statements issued by the bank and stamped
- FICA document for the company and for all members/directors not older than 3 months
- A letter on a company letterhead signed and authorising the proxy of the company to sign any relevant documentation pertaining to the registration of the vehicle
- Company to be registered and issued with a traffic register number from the licensing department
- Latest audited financials and management accounts for the last six months
- Valid and original CIPRO certificate indicating that the company is still active
Sole proprietor:
- Valid ID and driver’s licence
- 4 months original bank statements issued by the bank and stamped
- Letter from a registered accountant stating owner of the company and average net earnings for the last six months
- FICA document not older than 3 months
Trade-In:
- Copy/Original of Natis Certificate (Registration documents)
- Valid settlement letter from Financial Institution
